TRANING AREA
—
Teamwork is essential in architecture: no one individual can turn a design into a completed building. Architects, contractors, suppliers, and installers share responsibility for a project’s success, requiring a commitment to investing in quality from each party.
While for Zintek this means supplying the best possible products and providing unrivalled support, for installers and sheet metal workers it means accumulating experience and dedicating time and energy to staying informed, up-to-date, and competitive by taking advantage of the opportunities the sector provides.
Workers need adequate training and significant on-site experience to develop the skills they need to install materials correctly. Creating unbroken surfaces or using a range of techniques to highlight the joins between the sheets requires precision, knowledge of the materials, and a high level of professionalism.
Zintek realized the key role played by sheet metal workers before many of its competitors, leading it to launch the Tinsmithery School twenty years ago to provide small, medium-sized, and large businesses with courses on roofs, façades, and dormers. Its three curricula — one specializing in roofs, one focused on façades, and a qualified Zintek installation technician course — allowed installers to acquire new skills and assist with the company’s projects. They paired classroom-based lessons with lab-based exercises, where participants could draw on specialist equipment and a series of operational tools, including seam-tracing technology with designs and folding samples, and technical drawings for various details. They could also access the online P.O.L. cost estimate software, enabling them to calculate the timeframe and costs of a project in detail free of charge, and browse the corresponding technical documentation.
The school was for a long time one of the leading training centres for sheet metal workers in the whole of Italy. It provided opportunities to learn technical and business skills, and fostered partnerships between Zintek and students, giving the firm a competitive advantage over other businesses in the sector.
The school has now evolved into the Zintek Academy, offering an array of unique opportunities for installers and training aimed specifically at architects and design firms and helping to cement the company’s leading position in the industry.
The Zintek Academy is the only Italian organization to offer certified courses leading to an exam and Accredia-recognized sheet metal working Certification. And Zintek is the first organization in the Country to offer this form of training certification, showing its broad and strategic future vision.
