Zintek at Arte Sella with I Profili delle Anguane

In Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects’ new work, zintek® surfaces from «The Color Line» interpret the mountain landscape

The profiles of the mountains draw closer, become matter, and invite us to look at the landscape in a new way. From 24 October 2026, the Malga Costa trail at Arte Sella hosts I Profili delle Anguane, the new installation by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects, created with Zintek’s contribution in titanium-zinc zintek®.

The work stems from a study of Cima XII and Monte Fravort, two landmarks on the horizon of the Val di Sella. Through drawings, models, and experiments with materials, Tagliabue reworked their shapes into two sculptural presences: an outer line traces the profile of each mountain, while an inner one follows the path leading from the valley to the summit. Local craftspeople took part in the making, translating the forms developed in the studio to a monumental scale.

The composition pairs bases in local stone with an interweaving of metal blades in zintek® from «The Color Line», joined by the Gold variant. Shades of gold, green, brown, and sky blue echo the autumn hues of the woods; the succession of surfaces creates depth and openings, altering the perception of the work as the light and the viewpoint change. Colour thus plays a part in building the forms and their relationship with the surroundings.

The title refers to the anguane, mythological figures from the folklore of the Veneto and Valsugana, linked to water and mountain environments. The reference adds a fantastical dimension to the sculptures, which seem to take on an individuality of their own within the landscape they come from.

The installation becomes part of Arte Sella Architettura, the project developed under the guidance of Marco Imperadori, professor at the Politecnico di Milano, and continues a collaboration that has already seen Zintek involved in Carlos Marreiros’s work Fragment of light and in the extension of the Ersilia Botanic Bistro. In 2025, this shared journey was also marked by the publication of a monograph devoted to Arte Sella.

With I Profili delle Anguane, the relationship gains a new chapter: titanium-zinc zintek® becomes part of an artistic exploration that brings the mountains on the horizon closer, offering visitors to the valley another way of reading their forms.
