34 Il basamento è rivestito da pannelli compositi in matrice cementizia, realizzati con cemento grigio, inerti silicei e fibre di vetro di rinforzo, con buone prestazioni di impermeabilità e durabilità. Sul lato verso la strada, il basamento si apre con ampie vetrate che mettono in mostra i laboratori: da una parte rafforzano la continuità fra interno ed esterno e garantiscono luce naturale agli spazi didattici più tecnici, dall’altra permettono di vedere in tempo reale le attività della scuola. Il nastro vetrato del primo piano, che collega il basamento e i volumi superiori della linea e della torre, è un elemento leggero che proietta verso la piazza-parterre il grande atrio. Il volume superiore è definito da un unico disegno di facciata: il rivestimento in zintek® organizza il rapporto tra pieni e vuoti e unisce valore compositivo e prestazioni tecniche. A seconda dell’esposizione e delle esigenze interne, il rivestimento alterna porzioni opache a zone filtranti, composte da lamelle verticali che schermano grandi superfici vetrate. La scelta del materiale e del colore, valutata anche in termini di durabilità e resistenza, garantisce un buon inserimento nel contesto produttivo circostante e racconta la vocazione tecnica e professionale dell’istituto, contribuendo a costruirne un’identità architettonica chiara e riconoscibile. Rivestimenti The base structure is clad in fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix composite panels, made with grey cement and silica aggregate and strengthened with fibreglass, offering a good level of waterproofness and durability. The workshops on the base level are visible from the street side through large windows, which were included for two reasons: to strengthen the link between inside and outside and give natural light to the more technical teaching spaces, and to provide a real-time view of activities within the school. The glass “ribbon” on the first floor adds lightness to the building, connecting the base with the linear building and tower above and projecting the large atrium out towards the square-parterre. The upper volume has a single, unified façade design: the zintek® cladding defines the relationship between solids and voids and combines compositional value with technical performance. Fully opaque areas of cladding sit alongside sections that allow light to filter through — large windows shaded by vertical slats — depending on the specific exposure conditions and the needs of the inside spaces. The choice of material and colour — with durability and performance also considered — fits in well with the surrounding manufacturing environment and represents the institute’s technical and professional vocation, helping to give it a clear and recognizable architectural identity.
