The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) promotes a form of management of forests all over the world that is respectful of the environment, socially useful and economically sustainable.
Respectful of the environment because it ensures that the collection of wood products maintains biodiversity and respects ecological processes; socially useful because it helps both the populations of forest areas and society as a whole to enjoy long-term benefits; economically sustainable because forest operations are managed in such a way that they are profitable without generating revenue at the detriment of resources and of the ecosystem.
The FSC® certification is an international recognition, voluntarily requested by companies and organizations and carried out by credited third parties, for forest areas and wood products that are not derived from certified forests.
Although it neither directly produces nor directly sells wood, Zintek uses wood products for the construction of structural works such as façade and covering packages offered in combination with its zinc-titanium laminate, a truly eco friendly cladding material.
Its attention towards the environment has led the company to request and obtain the FSC® certification in its form known as “Chain of custody” (COC), for companies which transform and/or commercialize forest products.
The COC guarantees the traceability of materials from FSC® certified forests and is an indispensable certificate when commercializing a product.
In order to place the FSC® logo on products made with wood from certified forests, all the wood transformation and handling phases must be verified and identified, from the source to the final use.
With this certification, Zintek reassures its customers and partners with regards to the wood it uses, proving its active contribution towards a responsible management of forests thanks to the use of eco friendly cladding materials for structural works.
